New Teas Are Good, and Good for You
Mary Replogle, one of our owners, loves a good cup of tea. She decided it was time to make high quality teas available to our guests. Working in collaboration with the folks at Tea and Chi in Historic Downtown Vero Beach, Mary has come up with an offering of four delicious blends served on a personal tray with a special steeping pot.
The choices include:
ADMIRAL’S EARL GREY, organic A smooth and fragrant organic version of the classic. Blended organic India black teas, citrus peel, Italian bergamot oil and blue cornflower petals. |
OCEAN GRILL GREEN, organic An extraordinary, organic green tea from China. Careful spring picking of one leaf and a bud which is then dried slowly in muslin sacks to give a fragrant, very low astringency tea with floral notes. |
SEA SPRAY WHITE White teas are the highest in antioxidants and low in caffeine. Typically very light and mild, this carefully blended version gets a lift from the addition of organic rosebuds and a hint of bergamot. Truly delightful! |
LEMON GINGER ROOIBOS, organic South African red tea is naturally caffeine-free and full of vitamins and antioxidants. Combined with the brightness of lemon, ginger and lemongrass, it is the perfect digestive after a good meal. |

While most hogs today are raised in confinement factories, there are independent farmers who raise their stock in open pastures and deeply bedded pens without growth stimulants or man-made antibiotics. This is the old-fashioned way to raise hogs, but it produces a great product that is humane to the animal and kind to the earth. Now, that's something to "root" about!
We've all read the horror stories about the food industry in America, especially in the area of chicken production. With that in mind, our owner went looking for a better option . . . and he found one! New to our menu is the antibiotic-free, Certified "humane-raised" chicken breast. Whether you order Chicken Oscar at dinner or the Grilled Chicken Caesar Salad at lunch, you will be happy to know that you are receiving the finest quality product on the market. Because of the environment in which the animals are raised, it is unnecessary to feed them man-made antibiotics. Because they are given room to roam free, the chickens are happier, healthier, and . . . tastier. From hatching in the scenic countryside, these chickens are raised free of antibiotics, growth stimulants, hormones and pesticides.
